Mr. Grown up, Dear Mr. Grown up
Mr. Grown up, Dear Mr. Grown up
Mr. Grown up, we’re writing this letter to you.

Mr. Grownup, we’ve got some things to say to you.
You’re always telling us kids what we’re supposed to do.
Like minding our manners
Doing our chores
Finishing our homework
And a whole lot more
And we’re hoping that you’re doing all these same things, too.

Mr. Grownup, we clean our room everyday
Put away our clothes and throw all our garbage away
We’re getting worried,
We gotta confess
Cause you’re leaving the world
A big old mess
And we don’t wanna have to clean up after you.

Mr. Grownup, this really is getting unfair
Stop the factories from blowing all that stuff in the air
If you drove your car less
Would it be so bad?
If you stopped using plastic
We’d be so glad
Please don’t leave us a world we have to repair.

I follow the rules, and I follow my heart
So won’t you please also do your part

Mr. Grownup, we’ve got a suggestion to make
Stop buying so much junk you probably won’t use anyway
Like all the dollar bottles
On the sale rack
Or that big ugly picture
Wrapped in bubble pack
It will all end up in the garbage dump some day
